In the name of God, the Compassionate and the Merciful
Everyone knows about countless great impacts that the Grand Ayatollah Khomeini had on the east and west. He created an immense wave of change. He based all his plans on Quran, Islam and values and he led the nation with a unshakeable confidence and full faith in people to fight regime of oppression and royalty. He was one of those sources of immolation in jurisprudence who with overwhelming knowledge of fundamentals of Islam, and led like a prophet would. As such his revolution and the movement he created became very prominent. To understand the great character of Imam [Khomeini] today one must go back to his real companions, especially those that fought side by side with him and thought along the same lines. The items broadcasted throughout the state TV and other low key media does not do justice in introducing his great character to second and third generations of the revolution. There are those whose hardliner fundamentalist ideas were rejected by Imam [Khomeini] and whose positions of extereme conservatism and holism were degraded. It is quite possible that the very same people now try to destroy the image of Imam, and his real companions, and push them away from the political scenes. The recent caring and concerned letter of Mr. Hassan Khomeini to the chairman of the ‘Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting’ organization is a sign of the aforementioned problems. The program known as ‘Criterion’ that is broadcasted by state TV, and may continue to do so, is an obvious example. Imam’s holy and kind image that was even well known amongst the oppressed and poor children of the Latin America and Africa is shown in other ways. Just as the grandson of Imam [Khomeini] has said to understand Imam [Khomeini] better, his loyal companions must be invited to express the realities that he lived and shed light upon the unknown moments of his life.
Seyed Jalal-al-din Taheri
