In the name of God, the Compassionate and the Merciful,

We are still standing tall and proud on the first anniversary of the tenth presidential elections despite our whipped body, which endures bruises and imprisonments. Our demands are the same: freedom, social justice and the formation of [legitimate] national governance. We are confident of victory, hoping for the will and support of God, because we have not demanded anything other than restoration of our national rights.

“All [foam on the surface of water] will move to the sidelines and perish. What remains on earth will be to the people’s benefit.” [1]

The lies, irregularities, and fraud committed during the election prompted a question: “Where is my vote?” You great people shouted this question clearly and unambiguously in a non-violent manner during the historic and extraordinary rally of June 15. Everyone heard your voice and saw your message both nationally and internationally, except for those who were blinded by ignorance, superstition, self-interest and lies. But what was the response? Kalemeh: We are approaching the anniversary of the departure of Imam [Khomeini.] This year the ceremonies seem different from previous years. On one side old opponents of Imam inside and outside the country try to desecrate his image and they are supported by foreign media. On the other side, there are those in State TV and the strong advocates of imprisonments that promote and image of the Imam that advocated oppression. What is your opinion on the goals that these groups seek? And what may this end with?

If the unintended collaboration of the State TV and opponents of Imam in desecration of his image is allowed to continue and is not responded to, it would end with nothing but hatred towards our past. These new images are introduced by constant meddling in the original perception of Imam and the revolution. In the name of God, the Merciful and the Compassionate,

“Greetings to Hussein, the third Imam; Indeed, I am a friend to those who are your friends, and I fight against those who fight you. I am companion to those who accompany you, and an enemy to your enemies. I wish I were with you; if this were the case, my success would be a glorious victory.”(A Hadith)[i]

Despite numerous requests, neither Hojatoleslams Karoubi and Khatami, nor I, nor any of my friends, issued any statements for the rituals commemorating Imam Hussein. Nevertheless, pious people went to the streets, proving that the vast social and civil networks that people themselves formed during and after the election do not wait for us or our statements. People took to the streets even while lacking a newspaper to accompany and encourage them, or a fair and impartial national broadcasting channel. I congratulate the coming anniversary of Eid Ghadeer [1] to the Muslim nation of Iran. I pray the Great God to help us get our nation and all the Muslims around the world closer to the ideals of the person [Imam Ali] who the Ghadeer occasion belongs to. In this time of celebration, the Shiite wishes wellbeing and prosperity for one another and ask each other for gifts that would help them accomplish such wishes. They wish for a fine destiny for our nation and country especially in these crisis stricken times. It is expected from us to commit to the same action. It was still our duty to fulfill the wish [of putting our nation onto a path to a find destiny] even if this expectation did not exist. What we can do in this regards is to maintain loyalty in looking for the good [of our nation even when it is not accepted as is] and persistence in thinking for the future [of our nation even when it is not called as such.] Dangers ahead are too serious to let us or others think of our own interests, and the realities we face are too severe to disappear through ignorance. With the help of the ambiance of elegance that the Eid has provided in addition to the anniversary of 16th of Azar (December 7) as the day of University Students, no topic would be better to talk about other than a solution to our current crisis; a solution that is not necessarily bitter to swallow if we put away our prejudgments.

5th of Azar (November 26) is the anniversary of creation of ‘Basij[1] of the Oppressed’ by Imam Khomeini. This anniversary is an opportunity to have a second look at this influential institution in the history of the Islamic revolution: What was the Basij? What is it now? and what should it be? What force created the Basij, and gave it a name and recognition? What made it a hero of all the different tastes and inclinations [of different classes] in a period of the modern history of this land? That glorious history and great success known as Basij was not achieved through extensive budgets, and expensive weapons. It was not excellent institutionalized organization techniques that made the Basij as glorious as a tale of magnificent proportions. It was not military power that formed Basij. Instead, it was deep and pure intentions that created this high tower and nurtured role models whose names are remembered as if they were loyal friends of the prophet.

In our modern history, the thirteenth of Aban [4th of November] is reminiscent of three events. The first was when Imam Khomeini was exiled, and the movement went into a thirteen year recession. After being able to silence the movement by sending the Imam into exile, the Shah’s regime marveled at why such a thing was not done sooner. There was one uprising and one Imam, and when he was far from it, there was nothing left of its spirit. Was the Imam truly alone in the movement he had begun? Never. It is never such that one person can create change in society. He had many followers, but they were not like the friends that would surround him years later, when he said: “our leader is that 13 year old child …”

Without a doubt, the Quds day demonstrations remain a highlight of the events of the past few months. Promising results are expected out of what occurred during this event, which cannot be attributed to one faction or one view. Rather, [these] achievements belong to all of those who have roots in this land, even if some are not able to feel this blessing and this gift due to their own incorrect judgments.

This gift is the gift of the Imam’s [Khomeini's] foresight. He repeatedly told us to establish the right foundations such that when we are gone, they will not be able to destroy them, even if they so desire. Maybe we have not been able to truly act on this advice, but that is the path he always took. He based the pillars of the Islamic Republic on the trust of the people and created opportunities for them to come out [in public] so that no one would be able to destroy them.

Mousavi’s 10th Statement: Trial of Green Movement Activits

(translated by Neo-Resistance , source Ghalamnews.ir) They say that the children of the revolution have confessed to ties with foreign powers and plans to topple the Islamic Republic of the Iran. I personally listened carefully to what they had to say and did not find such meaning in their words. Rather, I heard a deep cry of sorrow of all that had become of them in the past fifty days. A crushed people who would have confessed to anything else that they were forced. Really, what other stories except of the pain they have endured would they speak? Some said Mohsen Rohoulamini deserved to be martyred. They said that if we had not shown resistance for the past 50 days, the spectacle of the past few weeks would not have been …

The torturer’s and inquisitor’s teeth have hit people’s bone so much so that that they pick their victims from those who have rendered great service to the country and the establishment; and threaten others who have had the most prominent role in the foundation and growth of this regime [referring to Hashemi]. Are you intimidating people whose highest dream was once to become martyrs of the bright path of the Islamic Revolution?? Or, after killing the republicanism of the regime on the altar, you are now aiming to disgrace the Islamicness of it as well? The only certain public verdict after watching such a ceremonial court is the moral decadence and lack of credibility of those who run it.

The scenes that we saw and you saw, are nothing but hasty preparations for the beginning of the 10th government. In a court that is fully fraudulent, they seek to prove that the election was not fraudulent. If you are not cheaters, then put it on display in a legal procedure! What is it that you are trying to convince people of, with a lowly indictment, stating irrelevant issues, and reference to books that are shred en mass, and based on reports of unknown journalists, or based on confessions that wear the color of the medieval tortures? Have you not read that the Prophet (pbuh) said: No blame is laid on a man who confesses under torture? Or “no confession for an imprisoned man who is threatened.”?

Our people sympathized with their children whose faces they saw after 50 days of. Brothers! Don’t be sad! Know that people understand and know that keeping you alive is more important than anything else. Soon, this people will witness the trial of those behind these crimes, and will know the faces of the interrogators and torturers who play with life and dignity of people.

وَلَوْ یُؤَاخِذُ اللّهُ النَّاسَ بِظُلْمِهِم مَّا تَرَکَ عَلَیْهَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ وَلَکِن یُؤَخِّرُهُمْ إلَى أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى فَإِذَا جَاء أَجَلُهُمْ لاَ یَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً وَلاَ یَسْتَقْدِمُونَ

“If god avenged man for his wrongdoings, no creature would be left on earth, but the punishment is delayed till a certain time; and when death arrives they can no longer delay it.
