Most of the legislations in the country are aimless, and merely for the sake of legislating something
Mir Hossein Mousavi criticized the policies underway and said: “most of our policies are unplanned and aimless. Unfortunately, our frameworks are like sand holes that cannot hold even a drop of water. Currently we do not have a clear and concise frameworks or plans. We must think more long term. The conditions in the government are such that everyone is assumed a conspirator and officials suffer from illusions of conspiracy. … Continue Reading

Kaleme: A group of veterans from the Islamic Revolution and [Iran-Iraq] war visited the prime minister of Iran under Ayatollah Khomeini [Mr. Mir Hossein Mousavi]. Mousavi made some important statements during this meeting.
Based on Kaleme’s report, Mir Hossein Mousavi began by thanking the veterans, and added: “You veterans of our struggle are committed to principles and values and care deeply about solving our country’s problems [with humility]. You don’t want any ranks and positions for yourselves. You do not pursue any personal interests [as you serve the country], and you don’t want to take advantage of the situation for you own benefits. This is why your opinions and thoughts are important, particularly since you are rooted in the revolution and you miss the enlightened and spiritual atmosphere that the revolution promised us and you are still in pursuit of such an environment.
Independency is a widely known value among Iranians:
They accuse the Green Movement of dependency to west, and yet, they are, themselves, after wiring letters and gaining attention from west:
He expressed great importance on this topic and added: “it is this subject that maintains our Islamic identity. We indeed require introducing Islam in its great form so that we can rescue our people and especially youth generation, otherwise there is no reason to, God forbid, to witness tendency to secularism across the society.”

In a meeting today with a group of religious-nationalist activists, Mousavi said: “To achieve our national interests and a desired society, there is no solution other than insisting on Green Movement. This is a process that needs patience, perseverance and call for great endurance against the hardships and challenges ahead.”
Mousavi expressed that the Green Movement sets and follows up on goals that are originated in the values and demands of the Iranian people. He said: “We must create a coherent civil society using all the available resources in the country.” He then expressed how necessary it is to create “people’s green institutions” in different affairs of the country to push forward for gradual creation of the desired civil society. He added: “What happened in the 25th of Khordaad last year in Tehran with that heavy and kind presence of people together accompanied by an environment of peace, endurance, perseverance and kinship along with their reaction as civil dissidents is a perfect example of a desired civil society.”

Spreading the goals of green movement in universities
Mirhossein Mousavi in a meeting with members of student committee of Mojahedin of Islamic Revolution party provided an analysis of the current situation in the country. Referring to the great potentials of human resources in universities he continued: “The progress of Green Movement in universities has not been inhibited by suppression. On the contrary the existing situation has made the aspirations of the Green Movement more widespread within the universities. Today the political activism based on rationality is spreading in universities. Practical discussions on strengths and weaknesses [of the movement], in conjunction with contemplation and perseverance in continuing the green path is essential. The reason that the far-flung wave of arrests has not curbed the green movement is manifested in the key slogan shouted by people: “we are numerous.” This slogan is very important. There are three and half million students in universities [across the country] and the majority of them are aware that the road to greatness of [our] nation is in spreading the green waves of awareness and responsibility among the population. The students are children of public and so far have succeeded in raising awareness and informing the public. … Continue Reading

Members of the Isfahan branch of the Institution of Intellectuals, which is part of the national Student Alumni community, met with Abdollah Mo’meni, their recently-released spokesperson. This corresponded with Mousavi and Rahnavard’s recent visit to Mo’meni’s home.
During that visit, Mr. Mousavi expressed great optimism for the future of the opposition movement, revealing that “a new season will come, and [it cannot be stopped].” Responding to an inquiry about what motivated him to stand his ground after the election, Mr. Mousavi referred to reviving the rights of people based on [his] commitment to the fundamentals of ethics, Islam, and humanism. Moreover, he stated the following: “Our moral duty must be to identify what is dark as dark, and what is white as white in a practical way. When the Iranian nation attended the elections in those numbers, I felt the obligation to stand with it side by side. To be honest with you, I followed after them.” … Continue Reading

Reformist delegates of the Islamic Revolution Mujahedin from the 6th Parliament visited Mr. Mir Hossein Mousavi.
In this meeting, before Mr. Mousavi, some of the members of this committee spoke. Mr. Mousavi followed by acknowledging the importance of their issues and added: “Our establishment is suffering from problems these days that go beyond street demonstrations. Our issues and problems are much deeper than things like street protests. One of these very problems is that the government thinks overcoming the street protests means solving the issues with dissidents who attended the demonstrations.”
Mr. Mousavi continued: “Everything that should serve as the source of pillars and basis of legitimacy and credibility for a system is decaying. Systems of government usually rely on their hard forces [of security, military, and intelligence] to maintain themselves in the final stages by any means. But we saw that in our country they relied upon too. This is something to pay a great deal of attention to and think about. Issue of ‘Lies’ has become the prominent issue of our day such that people are objecting to it. Unfortunately, lies are told very easily in levels of governance and their propagandas. … Continue Reading

Mir Hossein Mousavi, the prime minister during the holy defense [in the war], viewed the perspective that recognizes only one school of thought and one party and denies the collective wisdom as the main cause behind the events following the elections. He further renounced depictions that the State Television broadcasted about the departed Imam [Khomeini] and viewed them as ruining the fundamentals of the establishment. He further added: “State TV despoils the doctrine and behavior of the departed Imam Khomeini. This is exactly what foreign news agencies do.”
According to reports of Parleman News Agency, members of [the minority opposition] Committee of Imam’s Path visited Mir Hossein Mousavi as part of New Year rituals. … Continue Reading

Kalemeh reports the complete transcripts of this message as follows:
In the name of God, the Compassionate and the Merciful,
The unified caravan of martyrs
I wish all of our people a Happy New Year, as we approach the green spring and this national holiday. I will especially make note of the families of those who lost their lives while defending our independence during the [Iran-Iraq] war, the veterans, the injured, and those who suffered in any way. I should also mention the martyrs and those injured in 1388, [1][the year that is coming to an end], since I see their fate as connected to that of the war-time martyrs; they are all a apart of the caravan of martyrs that our country has produced over the … Continue Reading

In the name of God, the Compassionate and the Merciful,
I would like to thank you for being present here. We are currently facing an extraordinary situation. It would have made me happy to see our other friends among you as well – friends who are currently in prison, such as Mr. Mirdamadi.
As a political party, you are better informed of the situation that we are currently in. You are [also well] aware of the restrictions and limitations that the Islamic Participation Front faces. In many countries, the activities of [opposition] parties and other groups are welcomed and encouraged since they provides a means for diagnosing national problems and solving them based on collective reasoning. … Continue Reading
