Mousavi to Aminzadeh’s family: People have demands

Yesterday, Mir Hossein Mousavi and his wife, Zahra Rahnavard, met with Mrs. Asgharzadeh – the wife of Dr. Aminzadeh, who was arrested shortly after Election Day.
Kalemeh, a website affiliated with Mousavi, reports that during the meeting, Mr. Mousavi spoke about his experiences with Dr. Aminzadeh: “Our acquaintance goes back to the early years of the revolution. During those days, he would always accompany us on our trips to the outskirts of Iran, and we would benefit from his views and perspectives.”
Mousavi also referred to Aminzadeh as a strong, hardworking, knowledgeable person, who is well acquainted with books. He perceived his friend’s imprisonment as a great loss to the country and the establishment.
Mousavi expressed his concern about the forthcoming anniversary of the 13th of Aban [1] [and the hypocrisy of] the claim to be “fighting America, while leaders of Muslim students, who follow the path of the Imam – those like Aminzadeh and Mirdamadi – are imprisoned. What messages are we sending through our actions?” He asks further: “What message are we sending [through such actions]”
Responding to Mrs. Asgharzadeh’s concerns over her husband’s arrest, his extended interval in solitary confinement, the searching of their house, and all of the other hardships they’ve had to endure during this time, Mousavi stated: “What has happened is truly unfortunate. An important upheaval has occurred in this country and people are after their rights. It is wrong to condemn and confront them. They are not creating disorder. They have demands. Naturally, if their demands are not met, the current situation will continue.”
He insisted that “deviations that have occurred on political, economic, cultural and social fronts must be corrected.” He expressed his hope that all political prisoners, especially Drs. Aminzadeh and Mirdamadi, would soon gain their freedoms.
