Association of Combatant Clerics reacts to remarks made by head of IRGC

We are witnessing unfounded remarks and numerous insults from propaganda machines and specific cliques, against particular figures and groups. This slander is meant to justify their dishonest policies as well as their illegal and irreligious actions. What is one to do when a prominent official uses an obvious lie to form the basis of misguided analysis and excuse violent, illicit acts?
With his huge lies, unjust libel, and remarks against Mr. Khatami and Ayataollah Mousavi Khoeini, the head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has discredited the so-called detainee confessions to an even greater degree than before. Moreover, he has undermined the venerable institution of the IRGC, whose distinguished past is now being misused to defend mischievous policies and the perpetration of acts incompatible with the fundamentals and values of Islam and the revolution.
Is it not reasonable for us to expect the newly-appointed prosecutor to react appropriately to these defamatory remarks and to the fabrication of lies and similarly provocative comments that justify malignant agendas? We are particularly expectant considering the assurances of the head of the Judiciary to react to breaches of law from anyone in any rank or position. We hope that this just and religious expectation [from the Judiciary] becomes a reality as soon as possible and that actions which are detrimental to the country, to moral values, religion and law are put to an end.

The vote they stole from you and the rights that they took from you unjustly are a shameful stain that cannot be hidden with whatever colour it is painted over. This is so much the case that after one year, despite all the pressures and intimidation, not only have your rightful demands not been forgotten, but this desire for change has taken deep root in different layers of society, based on an extensive social network.
