Karoubi’s son responds to Ahmadinejad’s interview with PBS:

——————-

In the Name of God,

[a poem: if the first bricks of a wall are placed askew, the entire wall will go up askew]

Dear brother, Mr. Zarghami,

Honorable head of the IRIB,

Greetings,

As you are well aware, Mr. Ahmadinejad’s interview with Charlie Rose was broadcast on Channel1 [IRIB1] on Tuesday. When speaking of post-election events, the host of this American TV network pointed to the subject of prison rape. Mr. Ahmadinejad replied as follows: “It is Mr. Karoubi himself who made these allegations and when a three-member judiciary team refuted them, he grew very angry and had nothing to show for it”.

He asks the Marjas to emulate the prophet of Islam and speak out against oppression, abuse and bid’ahs to amend the erroneous policies of the authorities, resolving the current legitimacy crisis once and for all.

Karoubi’s Letter to the People of Iran

Spurce: Mowjcamp
Monday, September 14th, 2009

In the Name of God, the Merciful and the Compassionate,

To the honorable, heroic people of Iran,

As you know, your servant [Karoubi] has written numerous warning letters addressed to high officials after the election and its aftermath. [I wrote these letters] in hopes that a solution be found, no injustice and tyranny be inflicted on the innocent, so that the echoes of the oppressed will not forever follow and haunt us. Because as our historical experiences have shown us: a government lasts with corruption but not with tyranny.

To Mr. Larijani,

The honorable head of the judiciary,

Greetings,

As you know, after the controversial presidential election and its painful, alarming aftermath, I wrote many letters to the officials to share with them certain points, critiques and objections and to give the necessary warnings. The last of these letters was addressed to you. You have just recently accepted responsibility [of the judiciary] and are chief justice. And now I will share with you the details of my meetings with your representatives and some of the marginal events that took place which led to my personal office and party being sealed. … Continue Reading

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

The honorable, free-spirited and vigilant people of Iran,

Nearly three months ago, when you participated in the tenth presidential election, you went to the polls with the belief that your votes would be protected against the power-hungry goals of a minority group. You had been promised this with the constant reassurance of officials and the hard work of civil institutions. But the systematic violations, fraud and the bitter events that ensued, created a great disappointment out of what should have been a triumph for our nation. … Continue Reading

Association of Combatant Clerics reacts to remarks made by head of IRGC

Association of Combatant Clerics reacts to remarks made by head of IRGC

We are witnessing unfounded remarks and numerous insults from propaganda machines and specific cliques, against particular figures and groups. This slander is meant to justify their dishonest policies as well as their illegal and irreligious actions. What is one to do when a prominent official uses an obvious lie to form the basis of misguided analysis and excuse violent, illicit acts?
With his huge lies, unjust libel, and remarks against Mr. Khatami and Ayataollah Mousavi Khoeini, the head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) has discredited the so-called detainee confessions to an even greater degree than before. Moreover, he has undermined the venerable institution of the IRGC, whose distinguished past is now being misused to defend mischievous policies and the perpetration of acts … Continue Reading

Karroubi Responds to Larijani Requesting a Meeting with the Heads of Establishment

Source: Mowj
Wednesday, August 19, 2009

In the name of God, the merciful and the compassionate,

To the honorable Parliament,
The honorable Mr. Larijani,

Greetings. As you are well aware, an  enduring chronicle was born with our nation’s great and glorious participation in the tenth presidential elections. If the authorities had taken proper care, people’s participation could have been an inexhaustible asset for the Islamic Republic of Iran. It could have also endowed the establishment with global political legitimacy. Sadly, a deep nationwide divide has been triggered with the incompetence that respective authorities have displayed towards the ensuing demonstrations: a violent reaction to the peaceful rallies of millions that caused great harm to a large number of demonstrators, the murder of some, and … Continue Reading

Karoubi: I have factual evidence and [unlike Larijani] I am not afraid of losing my positions and titles.

Karoubi in an interview with Saham News today: “Mr. Rafsanjani passed on the letter to Mr. Shahroudi [the head of the judiciary] and he has ordered an investigation into the claims put forth in this letter. Also, Mr. Dorri Najaf Abadi, the head of the supreme court wants to contact me to inform me that he will send individuals to meet me, so that I can inform them of what I know.” … Continue Reading

A Letter from Karoubi to Rafsanjani

A Letter from Karoubi to Rafsanjani

(Source: Agh Bahman)

Mehdi Karoubi has asked Hashemi Rafsanjani to form a committee to investigate rumors and allegations regarding serious mistreatment of detainees.

Hossein Karoubi, his son, said : “My father wrote this letter to Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani and sent it to him privately. He insisted that Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani reply to the letter and take appropriate action. Unfortunately Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani did not reply to the letter. My father stressed that if he does not receive a response or see appropriate measures taken within ten days, he will make the letter public.”

Hossein Karoubi continued: “The letter is based on Mr. Karoubi’s concerns. He is also worried about what foreign groups may say about the treatment of the detainees. These days, a great number of people who have been released have come to see my father. They have retold their accounts of the conduct and behavior of the officers and officials while they were in custody. They have described what they have seen or heard in detail. Evidently the behavior and action of some personnel, particularly toward women and girls, does not measure up to the reputation of the Islamic Republic or any other regime for that matter.” … Continue Reading

Mahdi Karoubi: Complete Statement for the Anniversary of the Birth of the Green Movement

June 20, 2010

The vote they stole from you and the rights that they took from you unjustly are a shameful stain that cannot be hidden with whatever colour it is painted over. This is so much the case that after one year, despite all the pressures and intimidation, not only have your rightful demands not been forgotten, but this desire for change has taken deep root in different layers of society, based on an extensive social network.
